Ugly duckling Serena runs away from her rustic barnyard to pursue her dreams in New Duck City. Her adventures with a bunch of zany characters, including Prince Drake, Galinda ("the most fashionable Goose in the City") and Wolf, a talent agent and reformed meat-eater (or is he?), take her from high-fashion runways to perilous performing opportunities. Even the happy ending is not exactly by the storybook.

Note: Characters portrayed by a single actor are grouped. SERENA (pop belter with high extension): the ugly duckling who becomes a swan, shy but plucky underneath, self-doubting but also driven, powerhouse belter who can also sell comic numbers.
DRAKE (tenor): a spoiled prince who might never grow up, typical male ingénue, well-meaning but limited.
WOLF (baritone): a charming, mature, take-charge kind of Carnivore who has a hard time controlling his appetites.
MR. LAMBKINS: sweet and unassuming--the opposite of Wolf.
MRS. MALLARD (alto): an evil step-stage-mother who is overwhelmingly self-involved.
GALINDA: the most fashionable Goose in the city, hard-nosed about business and business totally consumes her.
QUEEN: steely and unforgiving, arrogant and entitled.
KING (baritone): kind-hearted and well-meaning but hen-pecked, bit of a bumbler.
COP: Irish, no-nonsense
ARMAND DILLO: flamboyant and exuberant, hasn't become a top fashion photographer without talent and smarts.
CLEM COYOTE (tenor): not the sharpest tool in the shed.
FREE RANGE CHICKEN: wild and noisy.
MR. BAA: a Scottish sheep.
PIG #1: leader of the 3 pigs
MALE MODEL: clueless.
REPORTER: annoying.
CARL COYOTE (tenor/high baritone): smarter than his brother (which is not saying a lot).
